(1) Vendor needs to provide workers compensation claims for legal services to the government authority located in Kansas.• Legal services:– Provide administrative or consultative legal work and advice with the responsibility for coordinating, planning, organizing, and conducting the activities of a legal nature regarding workers compensation claims on behalf of the state self–insurance fund. – Conduct necessary investigation, discovery, legal research and litigation in applicable administrative tribunals, trial courts and appellate courts. – Justify, defend, negotiate, persuade, or interrogate to settle matters. • Training or case law updates:– Ability to maintain and expand knowledge of state workers compensation law, recent case law, board decisions and state of State programs.– Share that knowledge with the state self–insurance fund team and collaborate for successful outcomes.– Provide training for state self–insurance fund staff, up to two hours per quarter, with pre–approval of the topic and delivery method in person, conference call, web–based, from state self–insurance fund management.• Medicare set aside and life care planning:– Project long–term future needs, services and related costs associated with catastrophic injury claims.– Counsel will conduct an extensive review of the medical records and produce a comprehensive report and cost projections as needed to obtain Medicare approval.– Counsel will submit all pertinent information needed for Medicare approval. (2) All the questions had been submitted no later than July 29, 2024(3) The contract period will be for three years.
