(1) Vendor needs to provide state governmental relations services.– Present potential legislative items to the agency, assist with the development of the county’s legislative platform, discuss the rationale for inclusion in the platform, and make changes to the platform.– Provide continuous and ongoing legislative advice, information and guidance to the county concerning legislative matters that may directly or indirectly impact it.– Monitor all bills of importance to county, including those affecting operations of county agencies, appointed officials, departments, taxation matters, state and local partnership concerns and other local governments, so that the county has a chance to engage in discussions.– Meet regularly and as needed with the agency and other appropriate organizations and lobbyists representing local government to share information, discuss legislative issues and coordinate responses and activities.– Keep the agency, county manager, assistant county manager, governmental relations coordinator, and department and agency heads informed of progress via weekly meetings, reports and other appropriate communication methods.– Meet with state elected and appointed officials, their respective staff and others as necessary to request their support or opposition to bills, gather information and discuss the county’s position and interests.– Arrange for testimony to be delivered by county staff, or when needed by respondent.– Send legislative bills to the governmental relations coordinator and assistant county manager for review and recommendation by departments and agencies for legislative action (i.e., support, oppose, no position).(2) All question must be submitted no later than August 14, 2024.(3) A contract period will be for two years.
